8 février New SiteHey
Just wanted to let everyone know that I have started a new website with my images. It is called Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/sseeney/ and it will replace my own webpage when that expires at the end of september. I've decided that I can't afford to pay for a site anymore so I am moving to the free way of things. It is a nice new site though, amazing imagery from a whole bunch of other photographers. Craig actually introduced me to it. So stay tuned. The link is located on my links sidebar as well. Some of the images are up already but I am working on better resolution for the others, technical difficulites. But this site is way easier to download imagery and I am hoping, one day, when I can afford it, to get a digital canon slr because I have learned digital is the way to go now.
8 janvier Long time no update 2007Well its about time, I have finally updated this site a bit, I know I have been really busy but now, with 5 weeks of unemployment until I start my graduate diploma of Education at Deakin, I have lots and lots and lots of time. You will notice I have added about a zillion different folders of photos so feel free to take a gander (i love that word). I am due for an update e-mail soon, but believe it or not, I have been trying to keep myself busy everyday that I am off so this will have to do as a short update. I am back in Melbourne, Australia, with the love of my life Russ. We took a trip to South Australia the day after I got back from Canada and it was great, although we both were sick from some Thunder Bay disease I brought back. Oh well, it last 24 hours for me, than I was on the mend and russ contracted it. We are both 100% as it just ran its course. The weather here has been hot!!! hot! Today is actually the first cool day, only 19 degrees but alas it will get up to 36 midweek. We just spend a great weekend with Russ's 4 yr old Corann, doing some baking as you can see in the pics. We've also been riding the train alot as our car, finally gave in and died. Unfortunately, with my unemployment and enormous school fees it might be a bit until we get a car. In the meantime we will try to keep up with some local hiking until we go stir crazy and then perhaps rent a car for a longer hike away. Well I will try to keep this site more updated, at least for the next 5 weeks. We now purchased a little point and shoot digital so that we can keep family and friends visually updated back home.
talk to you soon 24 mars Ellen leaves tomorrowWell I am sad to say Ellen, my good friend from Belgium is leaving me here, she is off to Adelaide, and then the outback with her friend from back home. I am envious of her travels and can't wait to be on my way. I have a count down going, 12 weeks here since I started my job (as I can only work a max 3months in one job) and now I am down to 10wks. Keeping me motivated to save some money for the next leg in my own amazing race. I am off tonight for some beer and jazz music to say goodbye and then spend the weekend touring around Melbourne again and taking pixs! My job at ANZ is great, I am working as a Payroll office within the distribution department and learning some things about how a bank works but also giving me the ability to work a bit of overtime, save some money and one of those jobs you can leave at the office place and go home and enjoy your evening. It is starting to show signs of fall here, but that means 15 degrees, which is fine. I still may need to go to Goodwill tomorrow and pick up some sweaters, my body has adjusted to warm weather which makes any temp. drop noticeably felt. You may have noticed I posted some recent pixs, two new folders. Hope you like them. gotta go! 13 mars A new day, another dollarA new day, another dollar, so I am starting another job again. Tomorrow I am going to be working for ANZ, doing some data entry and administrative stuff. I am a bit nervous, as it is an office setting but it is a three month contract and full time hours so I am also relieved to have some employment. This week is going to be crazy in Melbourne, the Commonwealth Games are already showing their impact on heavier traffic, lots of media and a higher presence of police officers on the streets. I am really happy that I can walk to work as I think commuting is going to be hell this week. I've been keeping a low profile as of late since I have some financial goals and want to save as much money as possible. I have a couple trips lined up for after my working stint here and so it keeps me saving for that. Though this past friday I did have a few beers at the local irish pub here, met some other fellow travelers and locals as well. It was nice, and my little celebration for the new job. I am looking into seeing an aussie rules footie game this week and have some commonwealth events to attend this weekend, boxing on saturday and athletics on sunday. Perhaps seeing the movie Capote tomorrow, as it is "tight ass tuesday". That's it for now, and hopefully i will get some pics up sooooon. I know I said this weekend but somehow it flew by.
3 mars Saving the world one day at a timeHello All,
Well today was a great 2nd day working for GreenPeace as a Frontliner. Basically I was out on the streets asking people for donations, to become monthly sponsors supporting our cause of a Greener future. It was pretty amazing actually! Yesterday we spent all day in training, learning about what GreenPeace is, what they are working on etc., We then spent 4 hours today talking to people in the streets about it and seeing if they want to donate or not. It was fun and nice to spend my day feeling like I am helping out as well as meeting some great people on the streets. Check out the site if you would like www.greenpeace.com.au 2 mars Queen's BatonHello All,
Just a quick note to let you know that Amanda Goulding, my cousins partner is running with the Queen's Baton today as part of the Commonwealth Games. It's pretty amazing the technology of this new baton, you can follow the runner at the time through live video cam feed and they have created sensors on this baton that can tell you how fast the runner is.......might be a good thing or bad! Here's the link http://qbr.melbourne2006.com.au/?s=webcasts If that does not work just go to 2006 Commonwealth Games page. I am looking into getting some tickets as I have never had the opportunity to go to the games before. Should be an adventure. 28 février Sites, Sites, SitesOk so you can tell I am currently unemployed, too much time on my hands writing and fiddling with this new msn space, anyways thanks to everyone who is now letting me put their link up on my site. This helps me too so that I can just click a button and see what kind of crazy things everyone has been up to. If there is anyone else who would like me to put up their site please let me know and I will. And no I haven't just sat around all day, only half the day. I have an interview tomorrow morning for Harvey Normans Photo Lab. Yes another photo lab but I would be really excited to get the job because I know I can do it and it would be easy for me. I also dropped my resume off to be a Scrapbook Teacher which would be wicked. I think its only weekends but i really padded my resume and cover letter so here's to hoping. Thursday morning is the big Greenpeace training day and so I have been at the library reading some environmental magazines. I would like to know as much as I can before going in. Anyways anyone have sites for me I would love to add it to my site.
Starting my blogThis is my first official entry into my blog. I have no idea if this works or not better than the mass e-mails in which I send, any feedback would be great! If you prefer to go here at your own free will instead of receiving these long novels by me let me know, or perhaps both? |
